Universal Sompo General Insurance appointed Rupesh Pawar as the Chief Information Security officer (CISO).
Rupesh Pawar‘s last stint was with IndiaFirst Life as Head of Information Security (CISIO) where he was instrumental in driving various information security initiatives at the strategic level.
Pawar hold’s a Master’s Degree in Cyber Law and IT Security and has 18 plus years plus of experience. Previously he worked with esteemed organizations like HDFC Life, Nomura India, Lehman Brothers, HSBC GLT.
Universal Sompo is India’s first non-life general insurance company that has the support and partnership of credible Public & Private corporate entities from India and Japan. The company is a Joint venture of Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Karnataka Bank Limited, Dabur Investments and Sompo Japan Insurance Inc.
Pawar‘s key initiatives at IndiaFirst Life was to define a strategic cyber security planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing defense initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment. This included management of current and future security technologies using a risk-based assessment methodology. Rupesh Pawar‘s extensive experience and domain knowledge on cyber security will be instrumental in driving further growth for Universal Sompo.
